Car to be at Russo & Steele auction 1/11
    www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1993-Jaguar-XJ220/6350

    Auction description:
    1993 Jaguar XJ220
    Consignment # 9134
    VIN: SAJTEAEX8AX220728
Offered for Auction sale at Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona January 19th-23rd, 2011.

The Jaguar XJ220 is a mid-engine supercar that was produced by Jaguar in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing between 1992 and 1994. Until the arrival of the McLaren F1 in 1994 it held the record for the highest top speed of any production car. It is still number seven of of the top 10 fastest Supercars of all time (217mph, 0-60 in 3.8 seconds). It has a 542bhp, 3,498cc 24-valve twin turbo V6 with a five-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel vented disc brakes. Only 278 were built and less than 15 were imported to the United States. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the rarest and fastest Supercars ever built.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
